War Memorial Garden
Formerly part of the Abbey grounds, the gardens were gifted by the Duke of Roxburgh in 1921 for the Kelso War Memorial. Other formal bedding displays of the highest standard are a delight in both spring and summer. Seating is available to enjoy the gardens and views of Kelso Abbey, which creates a magnificent backdrop to the north. The memorial and gardens are former winners of the Best Kept War Memorial Competition and have been regular winners of the Champions of Champions Competition, and have played a large part in Kelso's winning of Beautiful Scotland in Bloom, Britain in Bloom and En-Tente-Florale.
