Fife Folk Museum

Fife Folk Museum

The Fife Folk Museum invites you to discover the history of everyday rural life in this area. Located in the small historic burgh of Ceres, this collection has been built up over more than thirty years. Generous donations from all over Fife include everything from dolls' prams to farm carts, from mouse-traps to man-traps, from bars of soap to box bed and bicycles.

Explore the burgh tolbooth, which dates from the 1600s. Inspect the weigh-house, and dare the dungeon and its prisoner.

The Fife Folk Museum has won many awards, including National Heritage Museum of the Year, the Europa Nostra Award and the Tennant Caledonian Community Award.

Enjoy a visit to our museum shop for souvenirs and gifts. If your visit sparks off a deeper interest in the history of Fife, the Museum's library, local history archive and photographic collection can be seen by appointment with the curator.

Our opening hours are 7 days per week until 31st october 2010 from 10.30-16.30 with last admnission at 16.00
