Getting There by Railway
From Dumfries station proceed by foot or taxi via English Street, High Street and Friars Vennel to bus stance 5 Whitesands.
Getting there by Aeroplane
From Glasgow Airport take M8 east and join M74 southbound. At Beattock/Moffat take A701 westbound signposted Dumfries. From Dumfries town centre take A710, proceed through New Abbey to Kirkbean village, then follow tourist signs for John Paul Jones Cottage.
Getting There by Ferry
From Stranraer take A75 signposted for Dumfries, 4 miles past Castle Douglas turn right signposted Dalbeattie B794. At crossroads in Dalbeattie cross the A711 onto the A710, proceed to Kirkbean village 14 miles on. At Kirkbean follow tourist signs for John Paul Jones Cottage.
