Castle House Museum

Historic building set in the gardens opposite Pier, now a museum of local history. Exhibits, models and photographs tell our story from the Neolithic to the present day, with Highland Mary's Cottage, Victorian schoolroom, homage to Harry Lauder, "Doon the Watter" display, the Clyde in Wartime. Fine display of Clyde steamer models. Fully furnished Victorian parlour, kitchen, nursery and study. Videos. Shop. Disabled access.
The Castle House itself was built by Lord Provost James Ewing of Glasgow in 1822. Until 1975, Castle House was the Chambers of Dunoon Town Council before housing the former public library.
