Housed in the historic Old Town Hall built in 1776. The displays tell the story of Wigtownshire from the earliest times and include archaeology, farming and local history. There is also a section on Stranraer-born John Ross, one of the pioneers of Polar exploration. A temporary exhibitions programme runs throughout the year.
