Caerlaverock

Experience the dawn flypast of thousands of geese, particularly barnacle geese from the Arctic, at this wonderful estuary on the Solway Firth. Rare natterjack toads thrive on the margin of the reserves saltmarsh. You can also visit the beautiful moated ruins of nearby Caerlaverock Castle, protected by Historic Scotland.
Reserve is open all year round. Winter months for wildfowl.. Visitor centre and wildfowl viewing facilities at East Park Farm (Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust). Care needed the tidal marshes can be dangerous.
