Glenholm Wildlife Project

Glenholm Wildlife Project

Visit Glenholm Centre for a wild day out on the farm. We're a 1000 acre upland farm near Broughton with plenty to explore and enjoy. This is a working farm and there is always something going on. Come and find out what goes on in our upland countryside.

For those wishing to walk, there are four way marked walks ranging from a pleasant burn side stroll to a more strenuous marches walk. The views on the longer walks are worth the climb and free maps of each walk, obtained at the centre, make sure you can't get lost.

After all that exercise, or even before, why not pop into the Glenholm Watering Hole for light refreshments, home baking and a children's menu with a wildlife theme (we also do dinners by prior arrangement and have a table licence). While relaxing over a meal or snack, you can watch what's happening at the pond via live camera link into the tea room. Heron, curlew, oystercatcher and deer are but a few of the wildlife so far captured on camera.

After your meal, you can visit the hide overlooking the pond or, especially for the young at heart, why not visit our Millenium Wood Treasure Hunt? Buy a map from the Gift Shop (which also stocks maps and guides to the farm, local crafts and fair trade items) and see if you can spot all the birds and animals hiding among the trees. If you do a small prize awaits.

We can't guarantee what you'll see at Glenholm, we can't even guarantee the weather will be fine but we can assure you of a warm welcome at the Glenholm Centre.

Groups welcome.
