Keith & Dufftown Railway Association

Opened in August 2001, enjoy a trip on Scotland's most northerly preserved heritage railway and explore an area where the climate and geology are so suitable for malt whisky distilling that over half of Scotland's whisky distilleries are here.
Sit back and relax and be prepared for enchantment at the prospect of an ever changing prospect of colours as tiny rivers coil their way through a gentle patchwork of hamlets, rich fertile farming land and dark green forest whilst watching for the abundance of wildlife. A delightful round trip of 22 miles.
The railway is open at weekends from Easter to September and operates a varied programme of special events. Santa Trains are operated during December with visits to Santa’s Grotto on board the train as we run along the line. Our website givers details of all special events in addition to information on the line and the association.
