River Earn
The River Earn flows dark and deep out of the east end of Loch Earn and joins the River Tay at Bridge of Earn, shortly before the Tay estuary. Throughout the course of its journey there are many spots offering easy access to the banks and the drama of a large natural watercourse. The shallow pools and grassy banks in the centre of Comrie are always popular and, in Crieff, the route along the north bank known as Lady Mary's Walk is one of the most attractive and well known in all Perthshire. An easy going path stays close to the river, with a wonderful avenue of beech trees lining the early part of the route. Particularly stunning in the late autumn. South of Crieff, close to the Stuart Crystal centre, a riverside route can be followed for five miles, all the way to the conservation village of Muthill.
