Historic Paddle Steamer "Maid of the Loch"

Welcome Aboard! Loch Lomond's Paddle Steamer, MAID OF THE LOCH at Balloch Pier.
Cafe/bar/shop - Admission Free: Unique location for events, and group or corporate functions- right on the loch with magnificent views of Ben Lomond. There is a visitor interpretation display of restoration details and loch steamers.
Historic ship, build in 1953 and medium term plans to return her to steam operation. Marvel at the magnificent steam engines under restoration, admire the refurbished Queens' Restaurant, see the stunning Douglas Mickel Saloon, and get a tour of the on-going work from one of our volunteers.
Open 11am - 4pm daily May to October; Saturdays and Sundays from October to Easter. Car parking adjacent, access for disabled. Next to Loch Lomond Shores and the National Park Gateway Centre.
New for 2007 - the Balloch Steam Slipway (built in 1902) with steam engine, winding gear, carriage and slipway. Rebuilt in 2006 at a cost of £620.000. There is a visitor interpretation centre and "In Steam" days throughout the year. Admission free with plenty of car parking close by.
