Findhorn Foundation
The Findhorn Foundation is a spiritual community, ecovillage and an international centre for holistic education, helping to unfold a new human consciousness and create a positive and sustainable future. Based mainly at The Park, Findhorn and at Cluny Hill in Forres, the community extends also to individuals, businesses and organisations within a 50-mile radius of The Park and to the islands of Iona and Erraid on the west coast of Scotland.
We provide a broad range of holistic workshops, trainings and events, giving participants practical experience of how to apply spiritual values in daily life.
Since 1962 the Findhorn Foundation community has pioneered sustainable solutions, fostering the highest in human potential and working in co-creation with the natural world. It is a world renowned living experiment and demonstration centre using an holistic approach, integrating the spiritual, social, ecological and economic aspects of sustainability, and providing a learning community for others.
There are organic gardens, an award-winning organic shop and café, and over 50 innovative ecological buildings including recycled whisky barrel houses, a strawbale house, grass roofed buildings, and a 400-seat Universal Hall auditorium. There is creative use of local materials, four wind turbines which make the Foundation a net exporter of electricity, and The Living Machine ecological sewage treatment system. There are also art, pottery and weaving studios and many alternative therapists and ethical businesses.
Every year more than 2,000 visitors come to residential workshops and conferences, and another 3,000 people come as day visitors for tours and to participate in community life for short periods of time.
The Foundation's core education programme is Experience Week, a dynamic week that is often life-changing, involving participants in a transformative process of self discovery. There are many other workshops covering areas such as spiritual practice, nature and ecology, the creative arts, sustainability and healing.
The residents and guests of the Findhorn Foundation and Community are all linked by a shared positive vision for humanity. They are committed to a conscious and sustainable lifestyle which acknowledges the interconnection of all life, and practise a common ethic of love, service, integrity, responsibility and leadership.
The Foundation is a founding member of the Glogal Ecovillage Network and is a Non-Governmental Organisation associated with the Department of Public Information of The United Nations. The Findhorn Foundation Ecovillage Project has received Best Practice designation from the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (Habitat).
The Foundation is a unique, valuable and potent force for change, showing the efficacy of developing not just the externals of sustainability such as ecohousing and renewable energy, but also addressing the inner need of human beings for meaning and purpose, and for understanding our relationship and interdependence with of all life.
We welcome school groups and other groups for tours by prior arrangement through our Visitor Centre.

Guided Tours:
Guided tours of The Park start at 2pm and cost £5.
May to September - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
October & November - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
December to April there are no regularly scheduled tours.
You can also purchase a Visitor Guide tour book for £5 and create your own self-guided tour.
