Fraserburgh Heritage Centre

Fraserburgh Heritage Centre

Four centuries of local history. Sited in what was originally a barrel store, this award-winning museum is run by volunteers from Fraserburgh Heritage Society.
Discover the bustling quayside in the age of sail and explore a wealth of displays to interest every age.
Very much a family-friendly experience.

Winner of the Scottish Museum of the Year Award in 1999, Fraserburgh Heritage Centre illustrates the rich history of this North East Scotland fishing town which grew from a 'mere creek' to become Scotland's premier herring port.
Something for everyone can be found among the twenty-three displays illustrating the historical, social and economic development of Fraserburgh, including the stories of famous townsfolk who made their mark around the world.
For the younger visitor the Centre has more than twenty hands-on activities that enable the user to have fun and learn about the past.
Audio tours are available for an extra charge.
