Highland Wildlife Park
Experience Scottish wildlife, past and present, as well as endangered animals of the world's mountain and tundra regions in the spectacular setting of the Highland Wildlife Park.
Based at Kincraig, 7 miles south of Aviemore, the Highland Wildlife Park is more of an experience than a visitor attraction. Discover the amazing variety of wildlife found in present day Scotland, such as the pine marten, wildcat, otter and red squirrel - then step back in time and meet the creatures that roamed Scotland hundreds, even thousands of years ago such as wolves, lynx, beavers and wild horses.
The Highland Wildlife Park, owned by The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, is always expanding its species collection to fulfill its mission in conservation and now provides homes to endangered animals from 'mountains and tundra' regions as well. Already home to Amur tigers, snow monkeys, bharal and red pandas, it will soon provide a home to Bactrian camels!
Drive around the Main Reserve in your own car and then investigate the walk-round area by foot. There are daily feeding talks on some of the species in the walk-around area. Watch as some of the animals are fed and hear some more fascinating facts about them.
