Getting there by Aeroplane
From the roundabout at Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, take the first exit onto A79, then at the next roundabout take the third exit onto Monkton Road, and continue forward into Ayr. After approx. 1.5 miles, at the roundabout for Ayr College, take the third exit onto Station Road. Take the second exits at the next two roundabouts, and then at the first junction, turn left onto Beresford Terrace (signposted Stranraer). After approx. 0.5 mile, branch left onto St Leonard's Road (A79) and continue forward. At the end of A79, turn right at the T-junction onto A77. Continue straight on A77 (passing Maybole, Kirkoswald and Girvan), and follow signposts for Stranraer. After passing Ballantrae, there is a long gradual ascent and a later descent, which eventually joins the coast.
Getting There by Ferry
The nearest ferry terminal is at Cairnryan (arriving from Larne, Northern Ireland). From the terminal, follow the A77 northbound, past Cairnryan, and park at the first large car park to the left.
