Loch of the Lowes

The star attraction from early April to late August is a pair of breeding ospreys.
Their traditional eyrie is situated within 200 metres of our Observation Hides, allowing osprey family life to be observed through telescopes and on a monitor in the Visitor Centre. If you are lucky you may even see them catch a fish in the loch! Otters are present, but sightings are unpredictable.
Fallow and roe deer are seen regularly from the hide. Other birds which may be seen include redstart, spotted and pied flycatcher, crossbill and kingfisher. Wildfowl can be observed throughout the year.
