National Museum of Costume
Become a dedicated follower of fashion in the elegant surroundings of Shambellie House, a 19th-century country house in beautiful wooded grounds and the perfect setting for 100 years of costume, from the 1850s to the 1950s.
Our Museum of Costume is now closed for the winter … but the new season – starting on 1 April 2012 – will be characterized by the elegance and glamour of the 1940s and 1950s. So make sure you’ll swing by for our special exhibition on Horrockses Fashions, one of the most well-respected off-the-peg labels of that era, take a stroll around our lovely grounds and treat yourself to a tasty homemade snack in our cosy tearoom.
