Duart Castle

Duart Castle is a 13th century fortress, the oldest lived in castle on Mull, home of the Chief of the Clan Maclean.
You can walk through the kitchen, past prisoners coughing in the dungeons, up to the Banqueting Hall, on up the ancient turnpike stairs to the State Bedroom, up again to the exhibition room and the battlements.
There is a video in the Banqueting Hall, and a tour for children to follow around the castle. There is a Guide in the castle and leaflets available in French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Explore the grounds, discover the site of the Cromwellian ship wreck, walk in the Millennium Wood.
The tea-room is just below the castle. We make soup and bake everything daily in our own kitchen.
There is ample parking or travel on the Duart coach, tickets available in the Caledonian Macbrayne office in Oban.
