Goatfell

Goatfell

The open, wild and rugged Goatfell is reminiscent of landscapes more typically found in the Scottish Highlands, providing opportunities for walking and mountaineering in a dramatic and challenging upland landscape yet easily accessible.

It is nationally and internationally important for its landscape and geological features as well as for the extensive moorland and associated bird species.

Goatfell, at 874 m (2,866 ft) is the highest peak on the Isle of Arran and offers spectacular views of the island and, on a clear day, across to Ben Lomond, Jura and the coast of Ireland.
