Glenbranter

To the left over the River Cur is a small clachan of timer forestry houses. The surrounding area was the first acquisition of the Forestry Commission in Scotland, purchased in 1921 from Sir Harry Lauder. Whilst at Glenbranter, please make a point of taking in the Lauder Walks. These are through mature hardwoods and a unique collection of rhododendrons planted in the early 1920s. There are 3 short walks, the longest of which is only 1.75 miles, and cycle trails. Information centre, picnic area and disabled toilets 3 miles south of Strachur.
