Harbourmaster's House
Welcome to the Harbourmaster's House!
The Harbourmaster's House is a B-listed 18th Century building, which sits next to Dysart Harbour near Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. The building houses Fife's first coastal centre, which was opened by Gordon Brown in September 2006.
The Harbourmaster's House is run by Fife Coast and Countryside Trust a registered environmental charity which is responsible for the development and promotion of Fife's countryside as well as the Fife Ranger Service. The Trust's head quarters are located on the 1st floor of the building.
The building has been awarded a silver award from the Green Business Tourism and 4 stars from VisitScotland's Quality Assurance Scheme.
The Coastal Centre
Fife's first Coastal Centre, located on the basement floor of the Harbourmaster's House, will provide an accessible point of contact for anyone wishing to uncover and understand what makes Fife's Coastal Fringe unique.
This high quality centre will encourage its visitors to explore historic castles and caves, medieval churches and picturesque fishing harbours. Learn about the variety of wildlife, the outstanding geology and the unique fossils found along the coast.
The Harbour Bistro
The Bistro in the Harbourmaster's House is currently open 7 days a week (except Christmas Day and New Year) and serves a wide variety of dishes and snacks.
