The Farm Shop & Tearoom opened at Easter 2006 and has built up a very loyal clientele with local customers and visitors to the area returning on a regular basis. The shop has a range of home reared beef, hung and butchered in the old traditional way for maximum flavour and a selection of game, in season. Also available are local vegetables, cheeses, hand baked bread, poultry, pork, free range eggs and Finzean preserves and honey. The aim of the shop is to stock and showcase as many local suppliers as possible.
Currently, Val and Calum of Buchanan Food are running the kitchen. They are actively involved in Slow Food - which is, as the name suggests, the opposite of Fast Food - a movement that is currently gathering momentum across Europe. They endeavour to source their ingredients locally, seasonally and, wherever possible, organically, with an emphasis on taste and quality. Their ethos neatly dovetails with our own and is a great partnership for the Farm Shop.
In the tearoom we serve homemade soups, terrines, sandwiches and tartlets and a delicious selection of cakes and scones, all freshly baked daily in our own kitchen. Our premises are licensed and we stock a small range of wines and Scottish beer, available on the shelves or to enjoy with lunch.
The Gallery space on our upper floor is used for displaying the work of a number of local artists and is available for hire in the evenings for private dinners or daytime meetings.
Now that we have created a new tearoom in this area known as Scotland's larder, why not visit us and allow us to offer you some of the excellent produce available in Deeside. You can be assured of a warm welcome from our friendly and knowledgeable staff.
