Castle of Mey
The Visitor Centre at the Castle & Gardens of Mey provides a wonderful break with glorious views to Orkney on a good day. Purpose built from local stone, slates and flagstones and with a geo thermal heating system it appears to have been there for years and yet was only opened in May 2007.
There is a stunning tearoom with soup and home baked scones and cakes all cooked in the kitchen of the tearoom. The unique gift shop caters for all ages and with a wide price range of gifts. There are toilets and facilities for the disabled.
Entry to the visitor centre is free. Prices for entry to the Castle & Gardens are set out below.

Admission charges 2011 are: Adults £9.75 Children over 5 £5 Concessions and groups £8.75 Family £25
Gardens, grounds and animal centre only £5 everyone Family ticket £15.00.
Coaches also can book in April and October 2011.

Normal dates for 2011 will be:
1 May to 30 September inclusive but will be closed from 28 July to 8 Aug inclusive.
Opening times:
Castle 9.20 am to 4.30 pm (Last entries to Castle 4.00 pm)
Shop, tearoom, gardens and animal centre 9.00 am to 4.30 pm.
