Silkies

The Animal Centre at the Castle & Gardens of Mey has animals for all ages to enjoy from goats and piglets to Daisy the wooden cow who can be milked.

You will find several unusual breeds of sheep with lambs at the Animal Centre, some not often seen and also two piglets.
Two British Alpine Goats, Beebee and Libby, enjoy being made much of and there are rabbits, several rare breeds of poultry, ducks and a donkey. Rabbits can be talked to and there are two Lovebirds.

You are asked not to bring your dogs to the Animal Centre.


Opening Hours

1 May to 30 July and 13 August to 30 September.

The Castle is closed from 31 July to 12 August inclusive.

Opening times:

Visitor centre, tearoom, gardens & animal centre every day 10.00am to 5.00pm. Last orders in tearoom 4.30pm.

Castle 10.30am to 4.30pm every day, last entry to the castle 4.00pm.

Admission fees:

There is free parking.

Admission for children under 5 is free.

Garden, grounds and animal centre only: Adults, Concessions, and Children £3. Family £10.

Facilities:

The new Visitor Centre provides a shop, tearoom and toilets. Easy access for the disabled, with toilet facilities. High chairs available for use in the tearoom.

There is no charge to enter the Visitor Centre only.
