Situated in the beautiful and unspoilt Glenkens area, a warm welcome awaits you at this 4- star contemporary community and arts centre.
Recently voted the Cultural Champion of the region in the recent Dumfries & Galloway Life magazine awards, The CatStrand offers a year-round programme of theatre, music, comedy, storytelling, exhibitions, films and community events. It is also a hub for visitor information on places to visit and things to do in the area, including local walks and wildlife.
Enjoy delicious home baking or a light snack in the delightful café before perusing the centre’s fantastic shop which sells a selection of crafts from local artists and makers.
Named after the small stream that once ran through it, and now under the building, the venue incorporates a number of energy-efficient and renewable energy features. As a result it has been awarded VisitScotland’s prestigious Gold Green Business Tourism Scheme award and has also been named as Scotland's Greenest Arts Venue.
