Dancing Light Gallery
Dancing Light Gallery is a new exciting rural art gallery in the beautiful Scottish Borders, forming part of a beautiful new timber-framed building insulated with sheep’s wool and powered by renewable energy.
alongside Whitmuir the Organic Place, a wonderful café and farm shop less than 45 minutes from Edinburgh and 25 minutes from Peebles.
We exhibit and sell original work by local and nationally renowned contemporary artists and applied artists, including paintings, prints, sculpture, photographs, jewellery, glass, ceramics, textiles and wood. Each piece is unique and special and our exhibitions change throughout the year.
At Dancing Light Gallery we exhibit the work of emergent and established artists from the Borders, Scotland and beyond. In keeping with our rural location, the work on display is in general informed by, reflects or has a close connection with the natural environment.
We have a programme of changing exhibitions throughout the year where you can find landscape, wildlife and figurative paintings by contemporary artists as well as hand-made original prints and photographs.
We also exhibit beautiful sculpture, glass, wood and ceramics and we have constantly changing selection of hand-made jewellery on show in silver, gold and other media.
Our textile work ranges from scarves to handbags, again hand-made and original, using some of our finest Scottish wools and fabrics.
All of the work on show is truly unique.

We are located alongside Whitmuir the Organic Place where there is a wonderful licensed café, serving a choice of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes with as much of the produce as possible coming straight from the farm.
There is also a farm shop (open seven days a week) which supplies its own fresh meat, vegetables and eggs and stocks an extensive range of organic produce and ethical gifts.
There is a safe play area for children and during the summer there are guided walks around the farm where you can also buy seeds, plants and garden supplies, making it an ideal destination for a visit with friends or family.
