Stranraer Golf Club

James Braid, architect of Creachmore, immortalised himself with not only his 5 Open Championship victories but also his outstanding ability in golf course design. The lands of Creachmore were a gift to the people of Stranraer and year after year thousands of golfers from all over are attracted to this magnificent layout. With scenic views it offers all golfers, regardless of handicap, the opportunity for a memorable game. The SSS of 72 with a yardage of 6308 tells its own story. With stunning views of the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig the course is set on undulating ground, with a burn to catch the unwary on several of the holes. This gem of a course is a must for golfers visiting the area. All will take away many happy memories not only of this place but of playing James Braid's LAST course with the final hole aptly named in his honour.
Booking is advisable in the summer. Golfing parties are accepted, maximum party size 60.
