Colvend Golf Club
Conveniently located near to Dumfries, Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie on the Solway Coast, this challenging 18-hole parkland course guarantees a testing and memorable round amidst spectacular scenery.
Founded in 1905 and designed by architect Willie Fernie, Colvend Golf Club was re-designed in 1985 by architect Dave Thomas. It was extended to an 18-hole course in 1997 by the renowned architect John Souter of GTI and the famed golf TV commentator Peter Allis.
Many of the holes offer challenging water features and tree-lined fairways with spectacular views over the Solway Firth to the Cumbrian Fells and, on a good day, offer a glimpse of the Isle of Man. The club is particularly proud of the large oak and other hardwood trees, many of which are significant features to some of the holes.
After your round, refuel with a well deserved meal in the friendly clubhouse which serves delicious food and refreshments at reasonable prices.
Please note visiting parties are welcome and shower and w/c facilities are available.
