Kincardine Castle is emphatically not a country house hotel. It is something quite different. It is a private family home situated at the core of its 3,000 acre estate. With private gardens surrounding the castle the views over Deeside are outstanding. You are looked after as if you were private guests of the family – the experience is a world of difference from any hotel. Our guests’ comments tell the story for us. The property is available for Exclusive Use only. The minimum group size for an overnight stay is 6 guests and for meetings there is a facility fee. We have hosted many off-site meetings, overnighters, conferences, lectures, concerts, gourmet dinners and fine quality private dinners for private and corporate clients.
• Your warmth and hospitality is unsurpassed and of course both of you, with endless talent in music and story telling, makes staying with you at Kincardine a magical moment in time. It was an enormous milestone in my life and I just wanted you to know and send you both heartfelt thanks always.
Accommodation: 10 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. We can also arrange for additional overflow accommodation in neighbouring country houses and guest-houses of equally fine status. We arrange transport between them to avoid drinking/driving.
Meetings: Our beautiful Drawing Room, with 6 windows, makes for a wonderful light and airy meeting room. Having spent thousands of hours in meetings ourselves we know what’s good and what to avoid.
Capacity: varies on layout – but 18 in the one room is easy for cabaret or boardroom. Up to 50 for theatre style.
• A truly relaxing location for our meeting – it is not often I wish that meetings would last longer!
Dinners: Up to 22 on our fine mahogany table. Alternative layouts can take total up to 56.
• The combination of good food, good wine, good conversation and faultless hospitality make for an unforgettable experience.
House Parties: Perhaps our favourite activity of all. A private gathering of friends.
• In my feeling of life and experience, spirit is everything - or nearly everything, and here we had, for starters the sprit of our dear friends and the kind and loving and enthusiastic spirits of all their friends, and the eternal ever-natural spirit of Kincardine; but above it all and through it all is your spirit, Nicky and Andie - it is one of gentle intelligence and easy warmth, acceptance, attention to each and every individual - extraordinary! Unforgettable, and we will always cherish it.
Activities: Kincardine can form the base for outdoor activities. With a lot of advance warning it is possible, sometimes, to obtain the traditional field sports of stalking, shooting and salmon fishing. There’s an endless variety of walks available locally from a stroll to day-long expeditions. Pony & horse riding available locally. We have Deeside Activity Park just 5 minutes away and they can provide all sorts of team-building and other activities. There is also sightseeing (castles, gardens, distilleries, stone circles, galleries), shopping, driving (great scenery, empty roads) and then just relaxing at Kincardine. The biggest danger is in trying to do too much.
• Phew! We have to catch our collective breath. Five days have passed too quickly. The moors, grouse, stag, haggis, whisky, singing, piano, poetry, Robert Burns, black sausage, our hosts, etc.! Too much to absorb all in one sitting. I hope we will be allowed to return, but we will never forget the experience. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
