Kirkwood Fishing
Fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on one of the most picturesque beats on the River Annan. Although the Annan may not be in the "premier league" of salmon rivers, it is one of the top sea trout rivers and has good salmon runs at some times of the year. It offers great value for money.
The River Annan, especially Kirkwood, has some very big chub and grayling for the coarse angler; the best time being winter and spring.
The Kirkwood beat is only 8 miles from the estuary and is approximately 1.33 miles long with a single bank (right hand bank) only. It is beautiful fly water with some slow pools and some rapid, streamy water.
Four rods are available and are let on a weekly basis. Should these be unavailable fishing can be arranged locally elsewhere. Indeed we rent Jardine Hall fishings for those staying at Kirkwood.
We offer accommodation in individual farm cottages in beautiful rural countryside, with lush pastures and woods. Kirkwood is also ideal for walking, cycling, riding or just relaxing in peace and quiet.
