What we do and where:

Aigas Field Centre is set in a majestic Highland glen and has a great deal to offer. We provide in-depth holidays and programmes on wildlife and the whole of our natural heritage, natural history, ancient history, geology and archaeology.

Aigas specialises in operating individually designed residential programmes for groups and individuals. Our team of qualified rangers are here to lead, teach and inspire. Packed lunches are provided for expeditions away from the field centre.

In addition to the estate and our local area, we cover the whole of the Highlands as well as the Western Isles, the Isle of Skye, Orkney and Shetland, and supply all transport arrangements for programmes from arrival in Scotland to departure. Closer to home we have access to the mountaintops of Glen Affric and the wilderness of Glen Strathfarrar down to the dolphins, seals and mudflats of the Moray Firth.

What it is like at Aigas:

The House of Aigas is the family home of celebrated author and naturalist Sir John Lister-Kaye, as well as being the hub of field centre activities.

Guests are served meals in the baronial style dining room and are welcome to use our extensive library while they are here. Accommodation is provided in comfortable heated timber lodges in the arboretum.

The grounds of Aigas encompass many acres of diverse habitats including formal gardens, agricultural land, a freshwater loch, pine and birch woodland, bog and conifer plantations which offer excellent opportunities for wildlife study.

In the beautiful Aigas woods and grounds we have our own resident Badgers, Pine Martens, Red Squirrels, Brown Hares, Red and Red Deer, Foxes, Brown Long-eared and Pipistrelle Bat populations and visiting otters. Over 100 species of birds have been recorded on the estate, including regular sighting of Osprey, Crossbill, Buzzard, Red Kite, Sparrowhawk, Goshawk, Golden Eagle and Peregrine Falcon to mention only a few.

Our ethos:

Our aim is to share our knowledge and understanding of the natural world around us with people of all ages and experience. We achieve this through offering exciting programmes and activity weeks for adult groups and individuals. Visitors from all over the world have been welcomed here for over 20 years. We hope you will come and discover the Aigas experience for yourself.

Please check our website for prices as cost is dependent upon activity and duration of stay.
