Our nature photography courses and workshops are specifically designed to give people of all kinds of levels the opportunity to improve their photography and to enjoy the great outdoors of the North East of Scotland. We believe that by using practical coaching methods in an inspiring environment, you will have an unforgettable experience.
Our courses and workshops are focussed on learning the technical skills of photography and image manipulation, artistic expression, visualization and conceptual thinking.
We offer different courses to suit your requirements whether you are looking for a day, a weekend, an evening, a group or an individualised session. If you don’t have your own camera and equipment, you can rent it with us. The number of participants on any course is kept small, with a maximum of 6 at any one time, in order to provide individual assistance where necessary. By working in teams and supplying relevant notes and other useful material, you are encouraged to develop a critical yet constructive eye on your work.

One day Specialist workshop
This workshop will focus on one specific area in nature photography. We offer macro Photography, wildlife photography, landscape photography or night photography.
Minimum amount of people is 3.

One day Individualised Intensive workshop
This workshop is completely tailor made to meet your requirements, no matter what level of photography skills. Whether you want to learn more about photography in general or a specific skill you would like to improve or a special landscape location, we will design the course you have always been looking for! Maximum 2 people. Please mention your preferred date when booking this workshop.

One day Luxurious Photographic Experience
If you want to combine your passion for photography with all the good things in life, then this is the one for you. We will arrange a complete tailor made workshop, including comfortable transport, unusual and beautiful locations and a delicious lunch. You capture the image, we will process and print it for you to the highest standards to take home with you. High quality equipment hire included. Maximum 2 people. Please mention your preferred date when booking this workshop.

Introduction course
In this course we focus on the following;
- Technical skills such as shutter speed, aperture, film speed/ISO settings and white balance.
- The art of nature by textures, patterns, colour and size
- Artistic skills such as composition and light
- Equipment like tripods/monopods, lenses and macro equipment
To master the skills of nature photography, we recommend people of all levels to start with this course. Even advanced photographers might learn new things which could take their photography on a higher level.

Intermediate course
In this course you will apply the skills learned in the Introduction course in different nature scenes of the North East such as mountains, wildlife, trees and lochs, rivers and waterfalls, beaches and seas. Landscape and use of light will be a large part of this course. You will learn more about how to prepare for location work, use different creative techniques and get a better understanding of the role of human perception in photography.

Advanced course
This course will start in autumn 2007. More information will be available soon.
All courses and workshops start at 9am and finish at 4pm. Prices are including lunch, snack, hot coffee and tea. You need to arrange your own transport to the relevant location. Our courses and workshops run outside where we use a gazebo, so bring warm and waterproof clothes. If the weather is too bad, we try to make an alternative programme. If this is not possible, we have the right to cancel the course or workshops. Please read our full terms and conditions on the website before you book a course or workshop.
