Boat Trips
No visit to the Isle of Skye is complete without a trip on our RIB. Let us transport you to some of Scotland's most isolated and breathtaking sea lochs, set in the heart of the stunningly beautiful Trotternish peninsular. Our 6 metre ribeye has 8 seats for a safe and enjoyable ride.
Many amazing creatures are at home in our waters; porpoises and dolphins are present all year along with seals and many kinds of sea bird. The best period for whale watching is between mid June and the end of September. Look out for Skye's abundant wildlife including Golden Eagles, Corncrakes and Otters.
If fishing is your passion then our fishfinder will maximise your chances of success. The catch can then be smoked or barbequed back at our guest house for the perfect meal at the end of the day.
Our RIB is also perfect for certified divers. Let us take you to Skye’s great dive sites.
The sheltered waters of Uig Bay offer a great location for waterskiing – also available from our RIB.
Walking
Skye is a walkers paradise. From family walks on the spectacular coastline to dramatic scrambles in the Cuillin mountains, the most challenging in Britain, the island provides fantastic walking for everyone.
Trotternish is one of the most magnificent landscape in Britain. The coastline is equally spectacular, bristling with stacks and pinnacles, its hidden features revealed only by walking.
Mountain Biking
Mountain Biking in Skye was recently cited by MBR magazine as having the best singletrack trail in Britain. The backdrop of incredible scenery, culture and hospitality makes this one of the best places to mountain bike in Scotland.
From our village you can also get the ferry to Harris for a day trip of fantastic mountain biking.
Sea kayaking
Sea Kayaking in Scotland allows you the opportunity to really feel part of this wonderful environment. The protected Uig Bay provides a great location to safely paddle on our Tri Yaks. These sea kayaks can take 3 adults and are very stable making them suitable for beginners and all ages. Kayaking offers a relaxing way to explore and peacefully observe the wildlife.
Woodbine guest house and Skyeactivities are run by Vicki and Andreas Dunkel. From Scotland and Switzerland we aim to bring the best of our countries – Swiss quality and Scottish hospitality! Customer service is very important to us so please let us know if there is anything we can do to improve your stay.
