Go West Coast Cruising is a charter company offering skippered cruises around Scotland’s West coast, a part of the world which is both spectacular and relaxing, where you can enjoy the most stunning scenery and delightful variety of sailing.
Our aims are to offer maximum flexibility in the choice of cruise available and to ensure that the experience is thoroughly entertaining and memorable. Additionally, if you so choose, you can take part in the joys of boat handling under the watchful eye of your experienced and friendly skipper or, you can simply observe and appreciate the benefits of working with the wind and waves safely on a modern sailing boat.
Go West Coast Cruising offers day charters for up to 7 guests or stay- aboard charters of as many days as you like for 4 guests in the double cabins and, if required, a 5th in the main saloon.
Lunch is provided on day charters and on overnight charters a full range of catering options is available.
Your cook has always prided herself in preparing quality meals for family and friends using the best of Scottish ingredients. To this end has attended a number of cookery courses, some run by well-known chefs, and has become an Officier of the Confrerie de la Chêne des Rotisseurs.
We sail from Dunstaffnage Marina on the west coast near Oban. Oban is a delightful 2 hour drive by road from central Scotland and also has excellent bus and rail links and is justifiably considered as the principal gateway for sail cruising in the highlands and islands of Scotland and is, for example, is the main centre for West Highland Yachting Week which is held during the first week in August each year.
Your skipper is an enthusiastic and experienced sailor and RYA Yachtmaster, having started dinghy sailing in the Pentland Firth a good few years ago, but in more recent times has sailed and raced with a good degree of success his previous boat – a Beneteau First Class 8 – principally in the Middle East. He is keen and delighted to share his knowledge and experience, either in lighthearted exchanges or in more formal tuition sessions, with all who may be interested.
So, the holiday is yours and we like to offer total flexibility so that your choice is open, be it for a safe and comfortable cruise in exhilarating surroundings or combined with watching the rich and varied wildlife or exploration on land of the multitude of unique and historical sites which are to be found on the west coast or even just honing your sailing skills.
