The Ski & Snowboard School on Cairngorm Mountain
Cairngorm Snowsports is a not-for-profit organisation which trades as The Ski School and The Snowboard School. We are the only ski and snowboard school based on Cairngorm Mountain. In partnership with Cairngorm Mountain Ltd (the operators of the ski area) we can give customers the best option for lessons and packages. In order to deliver the best lessons possible we have the following quality promise:
• We only employ qualified instructors
• We operate with a maximum class size of 10 for skiing and 8 for snowboarding (as we feel this is a safe and professional maximum)
• We recognise that children and adults learn in different ways (so aim to operate separate classes for adults and children when possible)
We are members of the BASI Kitemark scheme, the quality assurance scheme for ski schools and also meet the quality, safety and environmental standards for use of the Cairngorms Brand.
We offer lessons for all ages and abilities. Whether you are 5 or 65, a total beginner or have been doing it for years, our friendly and professional instructors will ensure that you have a memorable time on Cairngorm.
OUR INSTRUCTORS
Our instructors have many years of experience teaching skiing and snowboarding in Scotland and around the world. They are carefully chosen for their patience and teaching skills, but also for their passion for the sport, and their desire to pass this on to others.
WHAT WE OFFER
Group lessons
These run every day over the winter and are the most economical way to learn new skills in a fun and sociable environment. Our great value packages include 4 hours of instruction, hire of equipment and lift pass.
Courses (SKI and SNOWBOARD)
2 day ski and snowboard courses run on specific dates throughout the season. Book onto one of these and benefit from the quiet slopes and reduced rates. These must be booked in advance. All of these courses are available for adults and children from 8 years old. During Christmas and Easter holidays we are running 2 day ski courses for kids aged 5 and over.
Private lessons
Maximise your potential by tailoring a lesson to your own individual needs. Private lessons allow you to develop and improve faster, giving you greater confidence and the ability to get down more challenging terrain. Alternatively get your family or a group of friends together for a lesson with your own instructor.
Snowlimit kids courses and camps
SNOWLIMIT provides a quality ski and snowboard programme dedicated to children, and acts as a feeder to the performance programmes of Cairngorm Ski Club and Cairngorm Snowboard Club. It is aimed at children between 5 and 13 years old and is subsidised by us and Cairngorm Mountain. The programme consists of weekend courses run either on Saturdays or Sundays in January and March.
