ON YOUR BIKE Cumbraes most comprehensive cycle hire centre has under gone a complete refurbishment for the 2009 season we have every thing on wheels from a mono cycle and a micro bike, mountain bikes for all ages, stabilizers if required, child seats, buggies and tag ons, tandems, Trikes etc. Cumbraes only: Tridem and 7 seater conference bike, electric bikes and a mobility scooter. New for 2009 we are now hiring space hoppers and looking to extend our hire range to the more extreme equipment including go-karts, fly jumpers and the fly bar (pogo stick – not for the faint hearted).
On Request when Your cycle is over, ON YOUR BIKE will have a personalized certificate of achievement made from a range of templates with Cumbrae pictorial backdrops and a photo of your self/group prior to embarking on the circumnavigation of Cumbrae!
Another big hit for 2009 is our Sprit of Air Land kite range. We have kiddies kites ranging from £3 right up to the 6M big stuff in excess of £200! Our range should suit all. We have parachuting teddies, single and dual line stunt kites, twin and quad line power kites, decorative box kites and spares inc. kite killers etc. Our staff are happy to advise & give demonstrations to get you airborne.
All our hire bikes are inspected by our service team prior to going out to ensure you a trouble free hire. However we also provide a free bike break down recovery service to all hires just to keep you on the road!
We have a stock of new and used cycles in store, you could wheel away today on a brand new bike from £39; ON YOU BIKE will happily part exchange your old bike for any new bike sold.
book your bike hire in advance as we can get extremely busy in the summer months, we advise groups and those requiring anything other than a normal bike to book to avoid disappointment. We will provide a discount to large parties (exceeding 10) paying as a group cycling on a charity event.
When you have cycled around our lovely island there are no shortage of restaurants bars and cafes to refresh yourself. Cumbrae has its own 18 hole golf course with beautiful views, seal spotting and fishing trips, a water sports centre, a Marine Biological Station with an museum & aquarium open to visitors in addition to the local Hyperbaric Chamber. The Garrison was reopened last summer and has a museum, library & tourist information centre, there is a model village to the rear of the Garrison which is popular with all ages! Newton Sands a blue flag beach and Kames Bay are only two of the spots to lie down and recover from your cycle! There are many secluded coves and bays where you could stop for a picnic on route. Cubrae is a photographer’s heaven all year round and a bird waters paradise with over 100 species recorded annually, we sell bird spotting sheets from beginner to advance level in store.
As previously mentioned this year ON YOUR BIKE has undergone a complete refit and we are now dealing with a growing number of stockists of land based sports equipment, branded leisure wear and beach toys as well as of course bikes! We are a growing business and whilst we endeavour to have as good a range in store as possible we cannot guarantee having everything in stock.
