Kingarrock Hickory Golf

Enjoy 9 holes of golf as it used to be played in the roaring 20s with original hickory clubs and balls that have the feel and distance of the past. Experience the softer sound of rubber wound balls on wood.
Kingarrock is a 2,000 yard family course 15 minutes from St Andrews and open to all. It was forgotten for decades and has been rebuilt after 70 years of use as grazing and crop growing.
Play as if you were a guest of the Sharp family, in front of the Mansionhouse in the middle of beautiful gardens managed by the National Trust for Scotland.
Tee off with nobody else around. An hour gap is guaranteed between groups so that you can enjoy the sense of privacy that existed when being entertained by Mr & Mrs Sharp 100 years ago.
An old canvas and leather bag together with clubs, balls and tees are all provided.
Gentlemen, ladies and golfing children are all catered for. There are 100 year old clubs for both right and left-handed players.
It was 1930 when Bobby Jones won the ‘Grand Slam’ with hickory clubs. Go back in time and find out how he did it. Then finish your round with a refreshing glass of Da Anderson ginger beer and some Edwardian shortbread.
