Scottish Clans and Castles Ltd

Please, if you are visiting Scotland, take time to experience its history, its romance. Let us show you a little, and explain a little, of what was. Walk with us through the clan chiefs' castles - some lovingly restored, some in ruined grandeur on islands or cliff edges, deserted for six hundred years....but still full of stories: stories of love and treachery, of clan war and clan heroes.
Walk back in time with us and touch some stones - stones in circles round cairns where ancient tribes buried their dead, Pictish stones incised with compelling, unexplained symbols, stones of broch forts standing perfectly circular since the time of Christ.
Perhaps you have Scottish ancestors? Then let us take you to see the glens where they lived. See the remains of their clachans and their castles, where their cattle grazed, where they gathered before a clan battle, and where they were buried.
William Wallace and Bonnie Prince Charlie are not the only heroes of Scottish history. Each clan has its own giants; some real, some mythological. Each has its own name ancestor, its own tales and customs and pipe tunes. It was the task of the sennachie to ensure, by constant repetition, that clan history was not forgotten by the next generation since it was the essence of each person's identity and culture and pride. Much is now lost, but not all.
As you experience the romance of Scotland you need not to be a mere observer from the 21st century! In unlikely corners of the country there are castles where you can till sleep in a fine four poster bed, dine in the Great Hall, listen to the sound of the pipes and drink a glass of whisky by the fire. Next night perhaps you will choose a low-roofed inn, where the cattle drovers would stay as they took their beasts to the lucrative markets in the south. We would be delighted to arrange this for you.
Indeed, if you wish, we can take care of each aspect of your holiday. Flight arrangements, admittedly, are not our thing, but we will fix your accommodation, tour guides (or just tour suggestions), car hire and information. We will advise you on what to see, what to miss, where to pause, and where it is worth departing from the beaten track - for unusual monuments, for ruined castles, or just for an exceptional west coast view and the ever changing light on the water.
