The Swan Trust
Sail aboard the Swan a unique opportunity to sail on a traditional Fifie fishing smack.
The Swan is a fully restored herring drifter from 1900, used today as a sail-training vessel.
A trip onboard the Swan will give you experience of the sailing techniques used in those days, and an insight to a way of life, which has now passed into our maritime history.
There is no age limit or need for previous sailing experience - anyone can join the Swan on one of her voyages. You can apply to come on one of our organised trips, or for a holiday with a difference you can charter the Swan with the Crew, and take up to 11 friends along. In the summer season we do evening cruises from local harbours. These usually last 3 hours from 6-9pm. A very pleasant way to spend an evening and a good primer for longer trip.
