Craignish Cruises

Guided wildlife and Corryvreckan Whirlpool watching boat trips on purpose built 60 passenger catamaran “ Sea Leopard 11”. Two, three, and four hour trips. Half day and day private charter. Water taxi.
Refreshments available, heated wheelhouse and toilet. Member of Wild Scotland and a W.I.S.E. accredited wildlife safe operator.

From Ardfern- ( Loch Craignish) join us aboard Sea Leopard 11 for a memorable cruise through the spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife of the Sound of Jura and the Firth of Lorn Special Conservation Area.

Gulf of Corryvreckan- the world’s third largest whirlpool. Daily trips to view this spectacle. Although we get up close and sometimes in to the maelstrom, the boat is always kept in safe water, this is not a white knuckle ride. Wildlife- there can be no guarantee of seeing any particular specis however,depending on season, most days we see seals, porpoise, sea eagles, red deer, and an abundance of sea birds. If lucky we sometimes see hen harrier, golden eagle,otter, dolphin and minke whale.

The Boat- Sea Leopard 11 is a Blyth 12 meter catamaran powered by twin Iveco 400hp engines giving a cruising speed of 12 knots top speed 18 knots. She is coded MCA P6 to carry up to 60 passengers 15 miles from point of departure summer operation, and Category 2 to carry up to 12 passengers up to 60 miles from a safe haven summer and winter operation.

Co- owner/Skipper- Lindsay Johnston has 30 years sailing experience including two Atlantic crossings. Having lived in the area most of his working life he has considerable knowledge of the area and it’s wildlife. He has also worked as a Countryside Ranger and Outdoor leader.

1st April to 31st October 7 days a week. November to March by arrangement.
