If visiting the beautiful island of Barra why not take a sea angling trip, a wildlife spotting trip, or a trip to one of the deserted neighbouring islands. You could even specify your own type of boat trip for private charter. Barra fishing charters can do all of these for you.
From the beginning of May to the end of September, Barra Fishing Charters caters for sea anglers wishing to experience the rich fishing waters of the Minch, family trips experiencing the porpoise, seals, otters and numerous seabirds round Barra’s coast, and groups wishing to visit some of the uninhabited islands off Barra.
Tourists can enjoy the rugged beauty of the Western Isles and spend time appreciating the unique environment and wildlife.
There are a wide variety of species available in the unpolluted waters of the Minch. Sea angling is an activity that can be enjoyed equally by experienced anglers and tourists wishing to try a new activity.
A very large range of fishing equipment is provided free of charge including the rods and tackle which are of a high standard and specially designed for sea angling.
A Semi-rigid inflatable dinghy with a 40hp Yamaha outboard is used for ferrying passengers ashore at neighbouring islands. When on board the dinghy passengers will have to wear inflatable life-vests provided by us.
A convenient pick up service from various parts of the island and from the neighbouring islands of Eriskay and South Uist is also provided.
Waterproof oilskins will be provided free of charge if required (hopefully not!).
Refreshments are provided on board the vessel again free of charge.
