Holy Loch Your Cruising Gateway in Scotland:
The new Holy Loch Marina nestles in one of the most sheltered areas within the Firth of Clyde and offers the facilities of a modern marina. Within the local village of Sandbank and the nearby town of Dunoon there is a wide choice of bars and some award-winning restaurants. A great selection of supermarkets and local shops offer everything from groceries to gifts.
The tranquil and beautiful Holy Loch is a perfect cruising gateway to the sheltered islands of the Firth of Clyde and the spectacular Hebridean Islands beyond. Easily accessed by rail, road or air, a thirty minute journey from Glasgow Airport takes you to one of two car-ferry ports, and your nautical adventure has already begun. The short, twenty minute, crossing brings breathtaking highland scenery that will become a hallmark of your cruising holiday. Moody mountains, their slopes carpeted with trees, making way to the clear, cool, waters of our sea lochs dominate the view as you disembark in Argyll, an area renowned for its rich and varied natural history. The views from our sheltered, marina, home-base across Holy Loch to the historic village of Kilmun, within Scotland's first National Park, are truly outstanding.
Yet this hidden gem is your departure base. Tomorrow you could be anchored in the spectacular Kyles of Bute or moored alongside in the bustling and beautiful harbour of Tarbert. You may prefer to spend the evening on an island, perhaps Arran, Bute or Great Cumbrae, and pick up a sheltered mooring buoy for the night. If you prefer the convenience of marinas, the Clyde estuary has several facilities boasting top class service.
