North 58 Sea Adventures offer exhilarating tours of the stunning Moray Firth coast on the powerboat 'Buchaneer'/ Each voyage is different - all that is guaranteed are the departure times and a blast of fresh, sea air - the rest depends on sea conditions and the wildlife! Sense of adventure required... 'Buchaneer' is a safe and stable, rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) with seats for 12 people, and can reach speeds of over 30 miles per hour even in rough seas.
LOCAL WILDLIFE
The Moray Firth is home to an amazing variety of marine life and there are opportunities to see thousands of seabirds including gannets, guillemots, razorbills, puffins, fulmars and kittiwakes. Encounters with the resident bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and grey and common seals are possible and there are often sightings of minke whales in the summer.
TOUR INFORMATION
Standard 2-hour tours head east or west of Banff, exploring the local coastline and historical harbours. East of Banff are spectacular cliffs of Troup Head with great opportunities for birdwatching, plus the picturesque fishing villages of Gardenstown, Crovie and Pennan. To the west, we head out to Portsoy, Sandend Bay and beyond to view the dramatic ruins of 13th century Findlater Castle.
One-hour trips explore rugged local coastline which is steeped in history and full of caves and coves.
The more adventurous can get a taste of the North Sea in a bad mood and go for a thrilling white-water ride on the Buchaneer.
Dive Trips - North 58 takes qualified divers to local dive sites from Buckie to Rosehearty, including rocky reefs and wrecks.
Private Charter and Corporate Events - Private charter available. Explore the coast, drop off for lunch at one of the picturesque harbours, take a coastal walk or even bring a picnic.
Lifejackets, full waterproofs and hats are provided but bring warm clothing as it gets cold out on the water. It is possible to pick up or drop-off passengers at any of the harbours along this coastline.
