Dolphin Space Programme

Hoping to see the famous Moray Firth dolphins or other marine wildlife like seals, porpoises, whales and seabirds? Look no further. The Dolphin Space Programme (DSP) is a training and accreditation scheme for wildlife tour boats in the Moray Firth with 11 members. All our members offer high quality, responsible dolphin and wildlife watching cruises taking in the natural beauty of the Moray Firth coastline.
By choosing a Dolphin Space Programme accredited tour boat you can be confident that you are choosing an operator who cares about marine wildlife and will not cause disturbance. DSP accredited boats follow a code of conduct to ensure that you have a wonderful wildlife experience whiles caring for marine wildlife. By following this code of conduct, dolphins and other marine animals are given the space they need to carry out important behaviours such as feeding, resting and caring for their young. They decide how close to approach and how long they want to stay with the boat. Not only does this protect wildlife but it also ensures that you get a truly authentic wildlife experience, observing wild animals behaving in a natural way.
With 11 tour boats on offer you can be confident that there’s a trip available for all ages and abilities. Go to the operators’ page on our website www.dolphinspace.org and browse through the operator details to see which type of boat trip is right for you. If you need any help planning your trip, you can contact the DSP Project Officer who will be happy to provide additional information and advice.
