Our pre-recorded English commentary tells the story of Stirling from 3000bc to the present day. Listen to the legends of William Wallace as you pass over the spot where the Battle of Stirling Bridge took place. Stop off at the Victorian Spa town of Bridge of Allan with its range of specialist shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. Pop into the Brewery Visitor Centre and taste some of the fine traditional ales and beers on offer. Crossing the River Forth we see the five hundred year Old Bridge the Beheading Stone and some spectacular views of Stirling Castle before returning to the Victorian City Centre. Heading south we come to the Bannockburn Heritage Centre where the most important battle in Scottish history was fought in 1314 giving Scotland a unique culture and heritage that lives on today. As we return to the old town we make our way up the short but steep hill to Stirling Castle, arguably the finest Royal Castle in Scotland, before returning to the many tempting shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
