Greenyonder Tours

Greenyonder Tours offers small, friendly tours that let you see Edinburgh in a green light. For 2009 we have two regular walking tours: Hidden Gardens of the Royal Mile and Green City Wander. We also have three occasional tours. All tours include Edinburgh's hidden gardens and green spaces and bring you closer to people and places you'd be unlikely to encounter otherwise.

Regular walking tours
Hidden Gardens of the Royal Mile: See a little-known side of Edinburgh's Old Town in this easy walking tour of approximately 90 minutes. Behind the historic buildings discover the surprising number of gardens and green 'nooks and crannies', all with a story to tell. 11.00 on Tuesday and Friday mornings, and 2.30 pm on Thursday and Sunday afternoons. Meet outside the Scottish Storytelling Centre at the Netherbow, 43-45 High Street, Edinburgh (John Knox House).

Green City Wander: Take a green-themed walking tour of approximately 90 minutes and explore a normally-locked urban wildlife garden; find out about wildlife in the middle of the city; be inspired by the work of Edinburgh's environmentalists and social reformers past and present; and take a different look at Princes Street Gardens. 11.00 on Thursday and Sunday mornings. Meet outside The Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh.

Occasional tours
Old Town, New Town: See the famous two 'faces' of Edinburgh's Old and New Towns through its gardens in this unusual walking tour. Monday 8th June 2009 Meet 2.00 pm outside the Scottish Storytelling Centre at the Netherbow, 43-45 High Street, Edinburgh (John Knox House).

Inspiring Gardens: Experience three inspiring gardens off the tourist track in a day-long minibus tour. Wednesday: 30th September. Meet 10.00am outside Register House, East Princes Street. Return 4.30pm (approx). Bring picnic lunch.

Growing Conversations: Occasional morning tours visiting more hidden gardens and learning from experienced gardeners. Dates to be confirmed.
