Hear about Lerwick harbours colourful history and see the unique geology of this stunning coastline.

All day trips to Flugga take place on Wednesday and Thursday. The exciting 3 hour trip to Noss will take place twice daily on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The boat is available for private charter for angling, diving or sightseeing anywhere in Shetland.

When visiting Shetland this 4 star sightseeing and wildlife experience is a must.

New for 2009. This inshore cruise takes you from the most southerly point of Bressay “Da Bard” to the most northerly “Scord” point. View the cliffs of “Da Ord” where much of the stone was quarried to be used in the building of Lerwick.
Sail pass the Kirkabister light, built by the Stevenson’s in 1857 and slowly pass along both sides of Lerwick Harbour where the fascinating history of how Lerwick developed from its first commercial use in the 15th century till today will be explained. At the same time, the rich variety of Shetland’s seabirds can be studied whilst they fish in sheltered waters.
Meet the old grey seals who appear to be looking for a free lunch and be amazed at the extraordinary underwater marine life viewed through the submarine camera whilst enjoying a cuppa!

Trip to Muckle Flugga. An unforgettable trip exploring the east coast and North isles. Weather permitting we will visit Hermaness National Nature Reserve and sail round Britain’s farthest north – Muckle Flugga lighthouse and the Out Stack. The tidal sounds around Yell, Unst and Fetlar are important sea bird and seal feeding areas and a favourite haunt of the shy and mysterious Red-throated Diver, ‘Raingoose’ in Shetland dialect. There is also a chance of seeing otters, porpoises and even whales. The scenery is beautiful and varied – from dramatic cliffs to secluded beaches and uninhabited islets, passing on the way, prehistoric brochs, Viking settlements, Haseatic trading harbours and 17th century lairds mansions.

The route varies according to weather. Our aim is to keep you in sheltered waters as far as possible. Along the way we will move into a quiet bay and anchor to launch our remotely controlled camera and discover the astonishingly rich marine life beneath the surface, while enjoying lunch provided on board.

This is no ordinary journey but a fascinating experience to treasure for a lifetime. Trip duration 7-8 hours.

Trip around Bressay and cliffs of Noss. One of the best bird cliffs in Shetland is only 7 miles from Lerwick. Join our 4 star cruise on a 3 hour trip that will take your breath away. The cliff erosion over millions of years has made a unique nesting habitat for puffins, common guillemots, black guillemots, razorbills, gannets, shags, kittiwakes and skuas in their thousands. Our boat is twin engined which allows us to take you incredibly close to the nesting birds without disturbing them. We regularly encounter seals close at hand and if we are lucky we might meet whales, dolphins or otters. We will anchor up and whilst having a cuppa we will explore underwater cliffs, kelp forests and the superb underwater wildlife of Shetland.

Being a catamaran the Rubymay is extremely roomy both inside and out. On board, in our centrally heated cabin you will find a well stocked reference library, and there are binoculars available for those who require them. There is a flush toilet on board. The fly deck gives an ideal platform for those wishing to take photographs. Frank and Stewart will provide you with a running commentary throughout the trip and will gladly answer your questions.

Please bear in mind the unpredictable Shetland weather and wear suitable clothing.

All trips are subject to weather conditions. (We don’t do gales!)
