Our Tours
Stagecoach in Orkney are operating tours of the mainland in summer 2009, with the opportunity to visit some of the historical and cultural highlights of the Islands, all you need to do is simply relax and enjoy your trip. With two tour options available every day you can pick where you’d like to go, or choose to go on both tours during the day for a discounted price!
Our professional drivers will guide you around the mainland, their commentary giving you an accurate insight into the Orcadian community.
Where to get your tickets
You can buy your tour tickets from the driver on the day, or buy in advance from the Kirkwall Travel centre.
Tour Details
The morning tour departs from Kirkwall Travel Centre at 0930, travelling west, passing the Standing Stones at Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar with time to explore each. The coach then visits Skara Brae, entry to Skara Brae is included in the price of this tour. Finally the trip travels to Brig O Waithe, Houton and Orphir Village before returning to Kirkwall at 1300.
The afternoon tour departs from Kirkwall Travel Centre at 1330 before visiting one of the speciality jewellery makers on the Island, Shiela Fleet. The coach then travels across the Island barriers to the Italian Chapel, before a visit to the Highland Park Distillery with an hour long guided tour included in the cost of this trip. After a tasting session at the distillery, the tour returns to Kirkwall Travel Centre for 1625.
