Cairnsmore Nursery
We opened Cairnsmore Nursery in March 2001 outside Castle Douglas in the beautiful area of Dumfries and Galloway. Our aim is to provide our customers with a range of hardy plants, including something a little bit different, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The nursery offers an eclectic collection of plants that we have selected to withstand the rigours of the local climate and visitors should be able to see increasing numbers of these plants growing outdoors in the developing garden, rabbits permitting.
Our own special interest lies in primulas and we have a large selection of primulas for the garden and the cold greenhouse. The bog primulas are outstanding garden plants, being colourful, hardy and often scented and we can offer a wide selection. For the cold greenhouse we have a collection or marginatas, pubescens, allioniis and auriculas that are our personal addition.
A visit to the nursery in April or May wil be rewarded by a display of many of the cold greenhouse primulas in flower and you will be able to appreciate the beauty of their forms.
