Art Gallery dealing in modern art - watercolours and oils - by local, national and international artists. Limited edition prints and Artefacts are stocked. A Bespoke Picture Framing Service is offered. Browers are welcome.
The aim of the Ottersburn Gallery is to display works of art by contemporary artists. The Gallery always has in stock examples of work by our local artists such as Melville Brotherston, Keith Brown, Hugh Bryden, John Crolla, Frances Godfrey, David Kelly, Jim Macauley, Hugh MacIntyre, Sylvanna MacLean, Diane Rendle, Emma Tennant. In addition we offer works by other well-known Scottish painters such as Iain Carby, Romy Henderson, Kenneth le Riche, Ian Redpath and Ronald Togneri, as well as painters from south of the border - Petra Rohr-Rouendaal and Ian Simpson. We stock paintings and prints of the town of Dumfries and the surrounding country. Six exhibitions of new works are staged each year.
One of the major aims of the 'Ottersburn' is to display works by international artists and to this end the Gallery has staged exhibitions of Peruvian paintings: 'La Familia Andina Callo Anco' - works by three very talented brothers and a sister; from france 'Alcais' - pastels by the famous Parisian artist Yves Alcais; from Botswana and Kenya - 'Out of Africa'. 'Some of my Friends' included works by artists from the USA, Canada, Laos and Vietnam. From 2006 the Gallery has sold silk and artefacts from Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Gallery prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and also tries to support young and not-so-young new talent: Alayne Smith, Jean Bradley, Archie Hunter and we are always pleased to examine work by artists looking for a showcase.
The picture framer at Ottersburn Gallery is an associate of the company and undertakes bespoke picture framing and restoration of old or damaged pictures or frames.
