The Crichton Grounds
The mature landscaped parkland, extending to 100 acres, provides the setting for many sandstone buildings of high architectural quality that now comprise Crichton Royal Hospital, Crichton University Campus, Crichton Business park and buildings in community use.
The main areas of horticultural interest are the Rock Garden and the neighbouring Arboretum started during the early 1900's. A wide range of unusual and striking plants are found in this area.
While enjoying a walk through the extensive grounds, many other mature and more recently introduced specimens can be seen. The site faces south west and here are many fine views of the surrounding countryside to appreciate.
